Make Sundial Papercraft

Do you know what is Sundial?

A sundial is a device that measures time by the position of the Sun. In common designs such as the horizontal sundial, the sun casts a shadow from its style (also called its gnomon, which is a thin rod or a sharp, straight edge), onto a flat surface marked with lines indicating the hours of the day. The style is the time telling edge of the gnomon. As the sun moves across the sky, the shadow-edge progressively aligns with different hour-lines on the plate. Such designs rely on the style being aligned with the axis of the Earth’s rotation. Hence, if such a sundial is to tell the correct time, the style must point towards the true north (not the north magnetic pole or south magnetic pole) and the style’s angle with horizontal must equal the sundial’s geographical latitude.

You can make sundial papercraft with your kids by print this template. You also need to teach your kids about this easy science. It will be fun to see the time in this sundial. Read more…

Raw Egg Vs Boiled Egg

If in your dining table you found 2 eggs, one is raw egg and the other was boiled, can you choose which of two eggs has been boiled? Two eggs look and feel the same but there is a big difference. Try this trick..I believe this trick will help you find out!!
You need to prepare :
a raw egg
a hard boiled egg
2 saucers

Now spin egg on a saucer with quick twist. The egg that spin longer is the boiled one.
The raw egg will spins more reluctantly; it wobbles and soon falls over.
You also can do this trick :
Spin the egg again, but suddenly seize each egg and stop it from spinning. Immediately let them both go again.
The boiled egg remains motionless on the saucer, but the raw actually begins to spin round again by itself..

So, WHY?? WHAT HAPPENING???
