Make Crystal Columns

In the previous experiment, I already posted about How to Grow Crystals with Easy Step. Now, I will post more crystal fun. This experiment takes several days to work, so you must patient.
And this is what you need to prepare :
2 glass jars
washing soda and a spoon
4 lengths of wool each about 35 cm long, twisted together to make a thick string
hot water
a large old plate

And this is the step by step :
Fill 2 jars with very hot water..please be careful we the hot water….
Stir in lots of washing soda, and stirring it in until no more disappear in the water.
Now, put the 2 jars somewhere warm, where they will not be moved
Put the plate between them.
Drop the ends of the wool hangs over the plate.
Now after a few days…the columns will meet in the middle.

So How Does it Work??

And this is the explanation why the crystal columns appears in the middle.
Water and soda from the jars go along the wool and drips off the middle. As it drips, the water turn into tiny drops,so small, you can’t see it on the air.
The soda is left in a hard drip.

The same way happened in the pillar in caves that called stalagmites and stalactites. Water and lime from limestone rocks drips from the ceiling. As the water goes into the air, it leaves the lime behind which builds up over hundreds of years. Slow but sure, the stalagmites will growing up from the floor and the stalactites grow drown from the ceiling..Sometimes they will meet…and this is very beautiful scenery.
